Storyville Pictures is teaming up with New Orleans Tattoo artist "Doc Don" Lucas to tell the story of Tattoo icon Paul Rogers. "The Art and Life of Paul Rogers" is a feature length documentary about the father of modern tattooing, F. Paul Rogers. Paul was a tattoo artist, inventor and innovator who almost single handedly help usher in the modern era of tattoo art. The documentary will feature interviews with Paul's contemporaries and those who learned from him as well as extensive interviews with Paul himself, from the 1980's.
"A different way of Life" is nearing completion. This documentary tells the story of those who have made a conscious choice to create and live in their own communities united by common beliefs and goals. The documentary profiles the people who live and work in three very different intentional communities At Karen House, a catholic worker house in North St. Louis, community members live and work with homeless women and children, providing them with long term food and shelter. The Farm was founded in 1971 by charismatic leader Stephen Gaskin, who arrived in central Tennessee with over three hundred San Francisco bay area "hippies" who created a community based on communal living, service to others and a loosely defined spirituality. It thrives today as a collectively run community that still serves others, and is an example of a sustainable, spiritual community. Dancing Rabbit in rural Missouri, is a self defined "eco-village". The community members are committed to sustainable living. All their housing is constructed using recycled or sustainable materials. Almost all of their energy comes from solar or wind power and their water is collected via cisterns. They live and educate others about living simply and sustainably. Look for the program to be completed in the fall of 2009.
